At Bommie HQ we like to think of the ocean as our shopfront and we're really passionate about our little island called OZ, so it's important to us to not only create quality functional clothing for making your day at the beach a great one, but to connect the two and create an environmentally conscious business that measures its success by also bringing about positive change to our marine environment and ultimately our big blue planet.

From our products to our packaging, everything we do is with sustainability in mind.

Our contemporary practical terry towelling range are made using natural plant-based fabrics which comply with the Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex® certification. Oeko-Tex 100 is the global benchmark standard for textile goods manufactured without harmful substances such as toxic dyes and carcinogens and in accordance with good environmental practice.

Waste and End of Life
One of the many benefits of manufacturing locally is there isn’t a commitment to large minimum quantities which allows us to adapt to seasonal and market trends.
Quality ethical manufacturing is ensured and once a product design sells out or we have extra demand more can be produced. This is one of our methods to minimise waste. Our patternmaker also ensures the best use of fabric is made to reduce fabric wastage.

Our towelling accessory range such as zip purses, beach pillows, hair turbans and book sleeves and makeup remover wipes are made from the end rolls of fabric or offcuts. Smaller pieces of fabric that can’t be used by us to make are donated to The Boomerang Bag community project to be repurposed into other items or shredded and home composted.

Shipping
All our online orders are shipped via Sendle courier company, the first company in Australia to offer fully carbon neutral services. All orders are packaged using home compostable courier satchels.

We are always exploring more ways to reduce our waste and offer more solutions to our customers.  

Conservation

We were founded as a profit with purpose brand, committed to raising awareness in our local and greater communities about the devastating impact plastic pollution is having on our marine environment and empower them to be active agents of positive change. 
The Bommie Australia crew regularly hold Beach clean ups in and around its base in Manly to raise awareness and educate it’s local community. Join in a beach clean up and do some good in the hood or make some waves in your own patch of paradise and start a beach clean up of your own.
